Turkish rice

Turkish Rice

Turkish rice is a simple and tasty side dish loved in Turkey. It’s made by cooking rice with butter or oil and often includes small pasta like orzo or vermicelli. The rice is usually cooked in chicken or vegetable broth, giving it a savory flavor. This versatile dish is often served with meat, vegetables, or stews and is a comforting part of many Turkish meals.

A Bowl Of Butter Rice

Turkish cooks prefer short-grain Baldo rice, even for pilaf, where fluffy, separate grains are the goal. I use both short and long-grain rice—short-grain or jasmine for daily meals and Basmati for biryani or pulao. I tried Turkish rice for the first time, and it was amazing, perfect plain or with curry.”
