Flatbread with Layers

Oats flaky roti is a healthy and light flatbread made using oats flour instead of regular wheat flour. It’s rich in fiber, easy to digest and keeps you full for a longer time. Oats are great for heart health, help control sugar levels and are perfect for those who are trying to eat clean or follow a gluten-free lifestyle. This roti is not just good for health but it also has a soft and flaky texture when made right. This roti is inspired by Taiwanese Zhua Bing but I made it in my own style.

Green Peas and Basil Enhance Taste to Another Level

Now imagine adding green peas and fresh basil to it that’s when the real magic begins. Green peas bring in natural sweetness and protein while basil adds a fresh, herby twist that lifts the whole flavor. Together these ingredients turn a simple oats roti into something truly flavorful and satisfying. It’s perfect for breakfast, lunch or even as a light dinner. One bite and you’ll feel the freshness, softness and taste all dancing together in your mouth.

Oats Flaky Roti is Gluten Free Option to Regular Flatbread

I’ve always loved eating wheat flour roti, It’s something I grew up with. Roti was a regular part of my meals and I never really thought about changing it But after my pregnancy I started noticing that whenever I ate gluten-rich food, I felt bloated and managing my weight became harder too.

That’s when I slowly started cutting back on gluten and began adding more gluten-free flours and protein to my diet. With time I saw a big difference in my health I felt lighter, more energetic and overall healthier. But to be honest I haven’t given up wheat flour completely. I still treat myself once in a while, maybe once a month or when I crave that comforting wheat roti with my favorite curry.

Now about this flaky oats roti or call it a paratha or pancake, It’s just mind-blowing. The flavour of basil mixed with a few spices really takes it to another level. When I first made this roti without peas it was already delicious. But then I thought why not add more veggies for colour, for fun and for extra nutrition? So I added green peas and the result was amazing. Sometimes I make a bunch of these roti’s ahead of time and enjoy them for breakfast with a hot cup of ginger tea. It’s a perfect and fulfilling way to start the day.

Lets make this…
