Protein Packed Breakfast

This Protein Packed Breakfast is Similar to Indian Chila

This recipe is quite similar to Chila— a popular crepe like dish from India. I made my own version because it’s healthy, simple, full of nutrients and perfect for breakfast, keeping you full for a long time.

In India, some people make chila slightly bigger, like a pancake, while others make it thin like a crepe but both are still called chila. I remember my mother making sweet chila by simply mixing wheat flour, sugar and a pinch of cardamom. It was so delicious and both kids and adults loved it.

These days making chila with lentils or other variations has become quite common. It’s easy, affordable and a great way to meet your daily protein needs. Lentil chila is now especially popular among gym lovers and people who have started eating healthy.

My Connection With Lentils

In the Indian countryside, farmers grow different types of lentils and seeds throughout the year depending on the season. My late father-in-law was a primary school principal and also a farmer, so eating organic, pure lentils and seeds was a regular part of life for them. When I first visited their home in Chanderi , I was amazed to see a big room filled with organic lentils. The best part? You could cook as much as you wanted without worrying about going to the market to buy them.

Lets make this Amazing Protein Packed Breakfast Recipe..
