This Polish-style cookie is exactly like its name creamy, buttery and melt in the mouth. You can feel all the flavours coming together in every bite. People usually make these cookies during Festive season but honestly you can prepare them any time of the year. You just need to check if you have some jam in your fridge or not. With only 3–4 basic ingredients like flour, butter, cream cheese, and jam that’s it you are ready to bake them.

These Flaky, buttery and rich Polish Cream Cheese Cookies also known as Kolaczki or Kolacky are traditionally made for Christmas and other holidays. They are usually filled with a fruit jam of your choice but other fillings such as poppy seeds or nuts are also welcomed!


These cream cheese cookies are known for their soft, tender texture and beautiful jam-filled in center. The dough is very easy to work with, making it a great recipe even for beginners. They look elegant on a cookie tray yet require almost no effort. The combination of buttery layers with sweet jam makes them a true classic. Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 8 0z Cream Cheese
  • 1 Cup Butter(on room temperature)
  • 1/4 Cup Apricot Jam
  • Confectionary Sugar

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl blend cream cheese with butter until smooth, then add flour in batches and start mixing everything together.
  • Once the flour and cheese blend well use your hand to make a nice and soft dough.
  • Wrap with plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge for at least 40–60 minutes.
  • Now dust some flour on the surface and start rolling the dough thin.
  • Cut the edges from the sides and slice it into 2-inch square pieces.
  • Start filling 1/4 teaspoon of jam in the centre then wet both sides with water and overlap them to the centre.
  • Once cookies are sealed, place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • In a preheated oven bake at 350°F for 12–15 minutes or until golden on top.
  • After baking let them cool then sprinkle confectionary sugar on top.
