Why These Blueberry Chocochip Muffins Works
You might ask, why combine blueberries and chocolate? Isn’t that doing way too much? Honestly, it creates the ultimate flavor balance. The tartness of the berries perfectly cuts through the rich, sweet chocolate.
Texture Matters
Most recipes leave you with a dry crumb that requires a gallon of milk to swallow. We fix that by using yogurt and oil alongside butter.
- Moisture is key: Yogurt adds an incredible softness you just cannot get from milk alone.
- Crispy tops: That high initial oven heat creates a bakery-style dome.
- Flavor explosion: Brown sugar brings a hint of caramel that white sugar simply lacks.
Ingredients
Fresh vs. Frozen Berries
Can you use fresh berries instead of frozen? Absolutely! I usually use frozen berries because I always have them at home. Just remember, if you’re using frozen berries, don’t thaw them first, or they may turn your batter grey.
Lets make it..
Recipe
Blueberry Chocochip Muffins

- 1 Cup Frozen Blueberry
- 2 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 2 Egg

- 1/8 tspn Salt
- 1-2 tspn Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Yoghurt
- 2 tbsp Oil
Instructions
- In a bowl mix the butter, sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Now add the egg and mix until frothy then add the yogurt, oil and vanilla extract and mix well.
- In another bowl add all the dry ingredients and mix them well.
- Now in another bowl take 2 tablespoons of dry mixture, add blueberries and toss them well to coat.
- Now add dry mixture to the wet mixture and combine well then add the blueberry mixture and gently fold it in with a light hand.
- Now cover the batter and let it rest at room temperature for 30–35 minutes.
- In a baking tray lined with cupcake liners pour the batter evenly into each liner and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 5 minutes then reduce the temperature to 375°F (190°C) and continue baking for another 20–25 minutes or until fully cooked.
- When reducing the temperature do not open the oven door, Once it ready insert the toothpick in center whether it comes out clean or not.
