It is easy to prepare and perfect for a family lunch or dinner. Serve this Afghani Chicken Karahi with warm naan, roti, or steamed rice for a satisfying meal.
Tips for Making Perfect Afghani Chicken Karahi at Home
One simple trick to make this dish more flavourful is to crush fresh cumin seeds between your hands before adding them to the pan. This helps release their natural aroma and gives the chicken a wonderful flavour.
Another important tip is to lower the heat before adding yogurt. This prevents the yogurt from splitting and keeps the gravy smooth and creamy. You can also boil and blend the tomatoes ahead of time to make cooking easier.
Serve your hot Afghani Chicken Karahi straight from the pan with warm naan, roti, and fresh onion salad. The crunchy onions go perfectly with the rich and flavourful chicken. It’s a simple and delicious meal to enjoy with family!
Balancing the Heat
Green chillies add a nice spicy taste to the creamy gravy. But if you don’t like too much spice, you can use just one green chilli. This way, you can enjoy the dish without making it too spicy.
Black pepper adds a nice, warm flavour to every bite. You can adjust the amount of spice to your taste. Try using a little more or less to find the perfect balance for you and your family.
